Many travelers have had same experience in Chengdu: They thought this city is as small as most of Asian town which usually quite walkable, but it turns out later most of them gave up walking after they figured out how big this town is (Of course, it excludes the tough guys ^^).

So, we started to look for a "Traveler's Location". Our criteria is " the area must be very CHENGDU", "convenient facilities like Money Exchange, city bus station, supermarket, Post Office and restaurant must be attached by". And most of all, they should be all in "SHORT WALKING DISTANCE". Finally we think we found this place.

 

Cultural & Historical Relics

This big temple (Wen Shu Temple )is only few minutes walk from hostel, a lot of people burning insense against the entrance at dusk.
Wen Shu Temple is the most holy place for local people, they burn incense and prey in front of Buddha statues to wish a better fortune for their future. The tea house in the woods is the best place to kill a lazy afternoon.
When weather is nice, you'll find elderly musicians playing music instruments together inside the temple. Monks selling incense and other religious stuffs. The Nunnery temple "Ai Dao Tang" near "Wen Shu Temple".

In the neighborhood of "Wen Shu Temple", a large scale of preserved historic area called "Wen Shu Fang" can be found along with bunch of local restaurants, souvenir stores, small museums, traditional architectures.
